Longest Night | A Liturgy of Lament

December 21st is the longest night of the year, and we will gather together and spend the evening practicing a liturgy of lament.

Lament is the biblical practice of taking our hurt and pain to God while simultaneously declaring our trust in him. Jesus welcomes our grief and is acquainted with it.

We want to acknowledge the dark and broken places in our world and our lives, and it feels appropriate to name our hurt and pain together in the community. The evening will be simple as we take time to pray, read scripture, sing, and look toward our promised hope in Jesus.
