All Church Gathering
Gathering as a collective group of followers of Jesus.
The Lord’s day has been acknowledged and celebrated by followers of Jesus since the very beginning. It serves to remind us of the resurrection and hope of Jesus, is meant to be a day in which we come together as one community to seek Jesus through song and liturgy, and is a time to submit ourselves to the teaching of the scriptures.
As a network of House Churches scattered throughout the city, we see ourselves as part of the greater whole - both as River & Way Church and the global Church. All of our House Churches gather together on the first Sunday of the month to take the Bread & Cup, worship together, sit under the teaching of the Scriptures, fellowship, and celebrate our life in God together.
We currently meet at Westside Church (7300 Stockdale Hwy.) on the First Sunday of the month in the evenings at 4:30p
River & Way Kids
We believe that kids are a vital, functioning part of the body of Christ. These early years have the opportunity to be foundational in a lifelong pursuit of following Jesus.
Infant to Kindergarten
On the first Sunday Gathering, this age group will experience age-appropriate teachings and activities from the Scriptures taught by committed River & Way volunteers that point to Jesus and relate to their lives.
1st Grade - Student Age
First grade and up are invited to join their parents in the first Sunday Gathering. We believe it is vital for this age group to participate, serve, and grow as a follower of Jesus alongside the rest of the body.
Midweek and Student Opportunities
Midweek is an optional intentional discipleship pathway for adults, students, and kids to grow in their experience and knowledge of Jesus and build community with one another. Midweek gatherings happen for seasonal periods of time in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
Whats our regular rhythm of gathering?
Our rhythm of Gathering as a community revolves around meeting week to week in homes across the city, and once a month all House Churches gather together. We gather primarily on the The Lords Day (Sunday) to orient our weeks and lives towards Jesus in worship, fellowship, learning, and rest. In addition to this primary way of gathering, we practice a seasonal midweek gathering for adults, students, and kids to participate in discipleship pathways an optional way of growing together in community.
We scatter throughout the city to worship together in House Churches. This is our primary way of gathering together. House Churches are “self selected” and most likely gather on Sunday mornings, though there are some groups who meet in the evening.
Midweek is an optional intentional discipleship pathway for adults, students, and kids to grow in their experience and knowledge of Jesus. We host regular worship nights, in depth studies of the Scriptures, theology, and spiritual formation. Midweek gatherings happen for seasonal periods of time in the Fall, Winter, and Spring.
